I've never, in 32 years in IT, seen a server complain that it was too cold. Until today.

Weird, mate in works home PC wont go on unless the temp is over 12degrees in his spare room. He claims its the only thing that stops it turning on. I doubt him but then again batteries can be effected by temps so maybe there is something to it. We have discussed it at length and im sure he is semi bullshitting me but swears he isnt course there is no other "logical" explanation. Care to elaborate on your issue Hav im curious.

One of our servers on site started sending us warning messages that it was cold. It had stopped the fans, it was freezing.

I know cold affects hard disks - processors love it though
