Balls didn't get it. Still they were really impressed with me. Just someone else got interviewed who did the same job elsewhere I believe. Just got pipped on experience.
Best of luck today Mr stu.

Went to my interview...15 minutes later was leaving. No competency questions, no legal questions.
It was just examining my CV, having a look at me and then telling me that they have some more interviews and I will know within the week if they are calling me back for a 2nd Interview. Why not just have a proper first interview ?
But on the plus side.... Got an email inviting me interview for a second company. Its only a part-time traineeship, but allows me to actually earn more if I keep my current job on to fill my days off..and the company is owned by a guy who went to the same school as me, wooooo Old Boys Network !

Ah old boys network.
Best of luck with no2 then too. Yea its common practice to weed out CV's have a first meeting to make sure the person isnt going to look like a complete fool before someone hire up then asks them more questions at a second stage.
A few techie jobs interviews you will speak to a non techie manager before speaking to someone who actually undersands the job.
