Why don't schools have stand-by generators?
Then they wouldn't close when there was no power.
The last few weeks have been a series of extra icing on the cake, and every time I think "well, things can't get any worse", someone puts a cherry on top.

Oddly enough, I've got more done at home than I would have at the office.
Which just goes to show that the continual sqaubbling of my sons is as nothing to the continual distractions of my "singing" colleauges, the "Gav! Gaaa-aaav, can we have a puppy[1]" from my techs and the continual heated discussions on everything under the sun from Customer Support...
Plus, Outlook Web Access doesn't work well with IE7, so, all in all, a pretty productive day.
[1] Where puppy = whatever thing with blue LEDs they've just seen.
