In the wake of the most recent school shooting, the NRA has come out saying that every school on america should have armed security.
They spokesman actually said, "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun".
I was in complete shock.
Its such a horrible and complicated issue but seriously WTF

There is an interesting sociological theory round this about the de-urbanisation of white middle class americans (WMCA), which isnt replicated in any other society. Read it somewhere, this may be a lack of quality sources!
Basically WMCA are afraid of black people living in urban areas, even though any rates of death for white americans are pretty much not related to what they fear, most of these gun homocides are black on black drug related crimes.
Most of human history has been that of urbanisation, but these WMCA are reversing that, but they arent ruralising, its a subarbanisation, not communities but small communities where they only live collectively for security but dont share the same community ties of either rural or urban enviroments.
Basically a breeding ground for loners who have grown up without social interaction and therefore a stunted sence of empathy.
And thats why high school gun rampages are all white and middle class, however as other ethnicities get bigger middle classes they have also started to sub-urbanise. So we will see more of this from other ethnic us groups.

Meh. Yanks have known what to do for years. If they want to keep killing each other they will and all the rest of the world can do is look on in shocked disappointed horror. BOs last term he may as well pass legislation on fire arms and to hell with the consequences, but he wont.
