hot...

lucky i didn't get shot on the tube for being a sweaty unshaven foreigner with a bulky bag and a leather jacket.

back to the cool bliss of Edinburgh where Nicky tells me it's been raining since I left.

Sunshine will return @ 3:51 :-)

Was up there yesterday. The tube is a form of torture. Still made the obligatory visit to forbidden planet to cool down

Hell yeah - London's FP beats Edinburgh's by a fracking mile.

It sells books, for a start.

Seriously, I've more bookcases than Edinburgh's shop. They hide their SF books up at the back, gotta go past Manga and dolls to get to the books.

It's like they're ashamed.

OTOH, as Edinburgh's FP evolved from the SF Bookshop (did what it said on the tin) and now they're half partners in FP, I suppose they don't GAF.

Spent a week in London, late august. Twas nice and cool, especially since at the same time it maxed out at 38°C around my part of France.
Even tube rides were nice. Especially since it's pretty easy for me to make people understand that the area next to the openable windows is MY SPOT. MOVE. NOW. FRESHish AIR IS MINE.
I got there when the weather went all rainy and windy for a few days, it made the plane's landing a wobbly affair. Teeth were clenched.
